Feed Me!
This weekend Victor has been quite funny with his food. He went though a phase of just hanging out with his weight and hadn't grown much but I think we are starting another growth spurt. He is wanting thicker food and more of it. We have started feeding him some off our plates of things that can be gummed down and he is now eating the #3 jar stuff as well as Cheerios. Today we tried adult oatmeal for the first time and he loved it and had no problem with the consistency. For lunch we are going to try the graduate raviolis. He is starting to finally get a tooth. It is the bottom middle right one. Maybe by the end of this week there will be enough for us to get a picture of it. Victor's new thing he has started this past week is wanting to stand. He wants us to hold out our fingers and he will grab on and pull himself up. Then he will sit, then stand, then sit, then pull up again.

Victor Gets Ear Tubes
Today very early we all got up to go to a surgery center for Victor to get tubes put in his ears. He has had an ear infection that I don't think has gone away at all since the beginning of February. He has been on four antibiotics and would still wake up in the middle of the night as well as have fits in the middle of the day pulling his hair and just crying. He was a very good boy today and didn't fuss too much at all even though his last cup of milk was at 6pm last night and he couldn't have anything until after the surgery at 7am. Afterward when the doctor talked to us she said he had a lot of gunk built up behind his ear drum and it would of been a long time before it could of cleared up with more antibiotics. That made us feel good about our decision to put him through the surgery. As he was waking up from anesthesia he was very confused and cranky but has done well since being home just taking a lot of naps. I feel this is a new start for all of us and look forward to having a pain free baby.

Our Rodeo Adventure
Yesterday we took Victor to the Houston Livestock show and rodeo. It was an adventure from the beginning. It was the first time Victor has ridden in a vehicle not in a car seat and he wasn't sure what to think of the park and ride bus.

When we got there he went to the petting zoo and was not impressed at all with the animals.

We all walked around, saw the booths and had lunch. There was a photo opportunity where a kid could stand in a barrel and make it look like he was part of the rodeo action. Of course Victor is too little so Richard was a good sport and held him up so mom could have a good shot.

It was all a ton of fun and the whole family took a nap when we got home. I think next year will be more fun with him when he can walk and be interested in the carnival rides. Humm.. guess next year will be alot more expensive!

Rub a dub dub, Victor in the tub
Today we got in Victor's new big boy bath tub seat. It is great for him because he loves to sit up and play in the tub and the old one made him recline. Now he can splash and reach his bath toys much easier. It awesome for me because part of the seat stability is an arm rest for whatever parent is bathing him.

Good news.
Well today were the big appointments for Luisa and all is looking pretty good. Her cancer is estrogen sensitive so no chemo! We were all very excited and hopeful. Treatment will be 2 weeks of radiation then just one hormone pill a day and once a month get an IV bone strengthening drug because the hormones cause bone loss. Other than being tired she is recovering well from the surgery and very glad to be home.
Victor is doing well and has started to finally sleep through the night a bit more consistently. He is down to only one bottle a day ( the bedtime one) and otherwise drinks his formula out of a sippy cup. He is still very proud of his clapping and is also getting alot more vocal.
Richard and I are doing okay, stress and worry have taken a bit of a toll on our health. I have had a cold for about 2 weeks now, but other than that everything is just one day at a time. Hopefully by the end of March we will all be back to some sort of normal. Not this but next weekend we plan on taking Victor to the rodeo so that should be fun.

Just blogging
Well it is Wednesday night and I am waiting for Richard to come home from the hospital where his mom has been since Friday morning. She had brain surgery to remove a tumor and we have all gone up there alot to give her some company and hopefully cheer her up. She of course loves seeing Victor and Victor loves his Teta. Yesterday as she was singing in Arabic to him he clapped his hands together for the first time! We were all very impressed at his new trick (not like he is a dog or anything but I couldn't think of any other way to describe it.) I hope to be able to catch him on the video camera soon but it is hard to remember to get it and if you leave the room and Victor sees you he is likely to cry and the whole moment is gone.
On Sunday I dressed him up in his overalls which Richard and I both love him in so I had to take a picture. I sat him on our big chair and started taking a few shots and poor Otis got jealous and jumped up right near Victor so he could have his photo taken too.. Our boys...
